3D Anime Stickers: What Motion Stickers Are and Where to Stick Them

October 9, 2026

3D anime stickers – also called motion stickers or lenticular stickers – change as you tilt them. Tilt your laptop and Goku powers up to Super Saiyan; turn your phone and Gojo lifts his blindfold. Here's what makes them work and how to use them well.

How do 3D motion stickers work?

They use the same optics as a lenticular poster, just smaller. A layer of tiny ridged lenses sits over artwork that's been sliced into thin interleaved strips. Change your viewing angle and the lenses show a different strip, so the image flips between frames or appears to have depth. Nothing is printed on top of the lens, so the effect never wears out.

Big stickers vs mini stickers

Motion big stickers are 13 × 13 cm. Big enough to be the centrepiece of a laptop lid, notebook cover or cupboard door, with the most detailed animation.
Mini stickers are smaller and cheaper, made for phone cases, bottles, switchboards and filling gaps around a bigger sticker.

A popular setup is one big sticker as the hero with two or three minis from the same anime around it.

The best places to stick them

Laptop lid – the classic. You open and close it all day, so the effect plays constantly.
Phone case – minis fit most cases and catch the light every time you pick up your phone.
Water bottle or tumbler – choose a flatter section of the bottle so the sticker lies fully flat.
Notebooks and diaries – a big sticker on the cover makes a plain notebook stand out.
Bike, helmet or cupboard – anywhere flat and smooth you'll walk past or move around.

How to apply a 3D sticker so it lasts

Clean the surface with a dry cloth (or a little rubbing alcohol) so it's free of dust and oil.
Peel the backing slowly and line the sticker up before it touches the surface.
Press from the centre outwards to push out air bubbles.
Run your thumb firmly over the edges and give the adhesive a few hours before heavy use.

Lenticular stickers are slightly thicker than normal vinyl, so they work best on flat surfaces rather than tight curves.
